The Second Call for Proposals within the Employment Committed SME Support Programme has been Launched!

The Second Call for Proposals has been launched within the scope of Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion in Türkiye (FOSTER) Project Employment Committed SME Support Programme, financed by the European Union, managed by KfW Development Bank and implemented by KOSGEB.

A total of up to EUR 30.2 million of grant support will be provided to SMEs that are operating in the project provinces, Adana, Ankara, Bursa, Gaziantep, Hatay, İstanbul, İzmir, Kahramanmaraş, Kayseri, Kilis, Kocaeli, Konya, Mardin, Mersin and Şanlıurfa. Thereby, grant support provided to SMEs under FOSTER Project will have reached EUR 65.2 million in total.

Applicant SMEs will prepare project proposals in line with the project theme of “Improving Competitiveness and Employment”. SMEs, whose project proposals are accepted, can obtain grant support up to TRY 1,000,000. Eligible SMEs will be able to use this support for personnel, machinery, equipment, molds, software and training expenses.

Within the scope of this support, at least 2.950 jobs will be created or retained. Employment of youth (under the age of 30) and women is encouraged within the programme. Support ratio is 70% of eligible personnel expenses and it will be increased to 100% of personnel expenses for the beneficiary SMEs creating employment for youth and/or women. Eligible SMEs shall apply to the programme through KOSGEB SME Information System (KBS).

The FOSTER Project aims to increase social and economic development by strengthening SMEs and promoting employment.

FOSTER Project Fifth Steering Committee Meeting was Held Online

The Fifth Steering Committee Meeting of Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion (FOSTER) Project was held online on September 12, 2023. Representatives from the European Union Delegation to Türkiye, KfW Development Bank, KOSGEB and The Ministry of Industry and Technology, Turkish Employment Agency, Presidency of Migration Management, Turkish Red Crescent, Development and Investment Bank of Türkiye, Ziraat Bank, International Labour Organization (ILO), The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD), The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) have attended the meeting.

At the meeting, information was provided on the number of jobs created and retained within the scope of the project since the last Steering Committee Meeting on January 30, 2023, as well as progress made within the scope of both support mechanisms, capacity development, and other project activities. The meeting concluded after receiving opinions and comments from stakeholders.
