FOSTER Project 9th Steering Committee Meeting was Held!

The 9th Steering Committee Meeting of the FOSTER I – Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion Project was held on July 1, 2025 at KOSGEB with the participation of the European Union, KfW Development Bank and other stakeholders.

While approaching the end of the FOSTER I Project implementation, the progress made in the last period, the impact created in the field, the added value and the successful results of the project were shared with the participants.

The Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye visited FOSTER Project’s beneficiary SMEs in Gaziantep.

The delegation from EUD, KfW, KOSGEB and Frankfurt School visited Acıoğlu Piza and Yemek, operating in the food sector and Dekopark in furniture production sector, to observe the achievements of the project implementation in the field and the benefits provided for the development of SMEs and the social cohesion. After observing the activities of the SMEs, the delegation received feedback from SMEs towards project implementation.

Within the scope of the EU funded FOSTER Project, we are proud to witness that around 3,000 SMEs have created almost 8,000 jobs with the project support.

The video of Datsan Trafo, which increased exports with FOSTER Project, has been released!

FOSTER Project continues to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs. Datsan Trafo, which operates in Mardin continues 90% of its operations in the foreign market with exports to 25 countries. The company contributes to the supporting of socio-economic cohesion while increasing its export capacity with the employee under temporary protection recruited with the FOSTER Project.
Datsan Trafo’s video, which shows the company’s success in the field of Transformer production and the impact of the Project support, has been released.

FOSTER Project continues to support women led businesses that build their futures with the entrepreneurial spirit and determination as well as the employment of approximately 2,000 women so far. The video displaying the inspiring story of Serap Melekoğlu, one of our successful women entrepreneurs from Kayseri, has been released!

We continue to support SMEs in the earthquake affected region with FOSTER Project!

We have provided support to SMEs in the provinces affected by the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, 2023 and contributed to the reconstruction of the region with the flexibilities provided and the resources we have allocated.
Ufuk Metal’s video showing the project’s contribution to increase their employment capacity and post-earthquake recovery process with the support received under the FOSTER Project in Kahramanmaraş has been published.

We Came Together with Our Stakeholders for the 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the FOSTER II Project!

The 2nd Steering Committee Meeting of the Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion in Türkiye II – FOSTER II Project was held on December 18, 2024 in hybrid format.

Planned activities for the upcoming period of the Project and the support that will be provided to SMEs have been shared with the participants. Representatives from the European Union, KfW Development Bank and the stakeholders attended the meeting at KOSGEB.

New Flexibilities Announced For The Employment Committed SME Support Programme Second Call

Within the Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion in Türkiye (FOSTER) Project Employment Committed SME Support Programme Second Call, new flexibilities have been introduced for SMEs:

Within these flexibilities;

  • On an exceptional basis and only in the first monitoring period, beneficiary SMEs that have paid SSI premium days equal to or higher than 1 for each new employee will be deemed to have fulfilled the eligibility criteria.
  • For achieving job retention/creation target in each 4-month monitoring period, winning SMEs shall prove that at least 40 SSI premium days have been paid for each retained/created employee subject to the Personnel Expenses support.
  • For achieving job retention/creation target in each 4-month monitoring period, winning SMEs shall maintain at least four times the lowest number of SSI premium days paid within a month over the last 12 months preceding the starting date of the support programme (In the earthquake impacted project provinces no control will be applied with the baseline value (premium days for the previous 12 months) will be made.)
