Her Excellency German Ambassador Sybille Katharina Sorg visited Hatay to observe the achievement of the FOSTER Project on the ground. Ambassador Sorg led a Delegation to Setal Aluminum, one of the project’s beneficiary SMEs, to examine its operations and hear firsthand the company’s story of benefiting from the project with Mr. Christian Garve, KfW Türkiye Country Director, Mr. Johannes Drijkoningen, Deputy Head of the Economic Section at German Embassy, Ms. Berna Tüzüner, Frankfurt School Senior Banking Specialist and Ms. Özlem İntizamoğlu, Local Project Coordinator in Hatay. During the visit, the Delegation also had the opportunity to observe the current status of the FOSTER Project, its outputs, and its impact on the ground.

The European Union Delegation to Türkiye, KfW Development Bank and KOSGEB visited Pınar Ev Mobilyaları, Güllüoğlu Baklava and Tat Global, beneficiaries of the FOSTER Project, in Gaziantep. The Delegation observed the working areas of SMEs and met with employees hired through the project. This significant visit once again highlighted the critical importance of the support that FOSTER Project provides to the local economy and employment. We continue to support our SMEs through the FOSTER Project.

The 9^th Steering Committee Meeting of the FOSTER I – Empowering the Private Sector to Foster Social and Economic Cohesion Project was held on July 1, 2025 at KOSGEB with the participation of the European Union, KfW Development Bank and other stakeholders.

While approaching the end of the FOSTER I Project implementation, the progress made in the last period, the impact created in the field, the added value and the successful results of the project were shared with the participants.

The Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye visited FOSTER Project’s beneficiary SMEs in Gaziantep.

The delegation from EUD, KfW, KOSGEB and Frankfurt School visited Acıoğlu Piza and Yemek, operating in the food sector and Dekopark in furniture production sector, to observe the achievements of the project implementation in the field and the benefits provided for the development of SMEs and the social cohesion. After observing the activities of the SMEs, the delegation received feedback from SMEs towards project implementation.

Within the scope of the EU funded FOSTER Project, we are proud to witness that around 3,000 SMEs have created almost 8,000 jobs with the project support.

FOSTER Project continues to strengthen the competitiveness of SMEs. Datsan Trafo, which operates in Mardin continues 90% of its operations in the foreign market with exports to 25 countries. The company contributes to the supporting of socio-economic cohesion while increasing its export capacity with the employee under temporary protection recruited with the FOSTER Project.
